I remember once, years ago being on a crowded train and feeling a hand (I knew not whose) grip my butt. I was just out of fucks to give, and I cleared my throat and loudly declared, “Yeah, whoever you are, you can take your hand off my ass RIGHT NOW.” My voice carries. Other passengers started laughing. The hand

I wasn’t aware that they were grayed.

Meanwhile Jimmy Fallon had a potato sack race between Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Hemsworth to determine the fastest Avenger.

Maybe men could shut the fuck up for ten seconds.

I can’t describe the raging I did at my TV yesterday during the Senate press conference. It involved sentences like, “look-it’s an elusive woman, right there?!? Let her fucking speak!” And “No one thinks you understand sex, Eddie Munster.”

“I desperately wanted to keep the situation from escalating.”

Shout-out to Ann Curry!!! I hope you are celebrating wherever you are, hon.

I was what many considered a homely kid. I got sexually harassed long before I finally grew into my looks (and I was over 20 when that happened). I’m now 50, and therefore nearing the supposed end of my “sexual market value” (because menopause, and therefore no more chance of reproduction), but I still get harassed.

Men who harass and abuse will punish women for being unfuckable just as aggressively as they punish women they’d like to fuck. Getting barked and mooed at, or having “Ugly cunt!” yelled at you instead of “I’d like a piece of that, baby!”. Or the same bosses and co workers and peers who get grabby and leer and hassle

The underlying assumption that harassment is based on attractiveness or cultivated attractiveness is clearly untrue and dumb but even if it was...who cares? I open myself up to specific and unique forms of sexism by having kids, is it my responsibility to not have kids then? I open myself up to unique and specific

Internalized misogyny is a hell of a drug. When there is equal opportunity for women, we will no longer see each other throught he lens of “I am competing with her for male attention and approval.” She thinks the enemy of her enemy is her enemy, but the enemy of her enemy is her ally.

Maybe — stay with me here — just maybe (I know this will sound crazy at first, but ...) we shouldn’t take hashtag slogans quite so literally and without reflection to such a degree that we write long, hand-wringing, navel-gazing, pearl-clutching columns about their face-value meaning.

Your friend has internalized some seriously toxic views.

My friend had an interview at the University I work. The department chair of PoliSci couldn’t keep his eyes off her chest the entire time. She was so uncomfortable she reported it.

“It’s appalling John Conyers would harass a woman who is 57 when there’s a good chance she might have a hot granddaughter for him to molest instead.”

This is good Kinja, though I suspect a ton of folk may miss your point.

It’s amazing how quickly the liberal firing squad is willing to turn on its own. We can’t keep doing this, letting these unsubstantiated MERE ALLEGATIONS which may be politically motivated cause us to lose sight of the bigger goal. Do we really want another Republican in there? Yes, sexual harassment is bad, but is

Trust from someone who was actually there: Women Trump voters were in those crowds.

To me, it ain’t an issue of normalization, fam.

Yeah, my jaw hit the floor on that. From Mother Jones no less.
