Yes. That came off as a really weird choice to me. Like, they don’t have anyone else maybe a little more anonymous to take care of that job?

I recently flew Vancouver to Tokyo. I’m on the window. No one’s in the aisle next to me. (Only two seats on the left side of those planes.) After the meal I take a nap. When I wake up a couple hours later, suddenly I have a seat neighbor. Where did this guy come from???
I think Being There is sort of bloated and would be an awesome album if they’d released it as a 50-minute album. Whatever was cut would’ve made a great cornerstone for a B-sides/rarities collection.
One of my favorite scenes is when Jason pretends over the phone to Melissa and Brendon that his parents are arguing because he feels left out by having parents who are actually together and happy.
I started a huge ordeal about this when I started at my current job. “But CST isn’t year-round. Why not just say Central Time?” Apparently nobody had thought about it before. Now I think our website says “CT” everywhere.
“Golden Century Seafood downtown.”
If you haven’t read the article about the artist whose work that is, it is worthwhile. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/23/arts/television/the-americans-fx-final-season.html
The stuff before Elizabeth killed her was pretty hard, too, especially for anyone who has watched a loved one die. That familiar, close-to-death breathing pattern was incredibly hard to watch, and to hear.
Workplace networks that require you to change your password every 60 days and won’t let you use a password you used 16 cycles ago even though you didn’t even remember using it then because your limited brain space finally dumped that one piece of useless information.
While reading that, I can so perfectly see the face George would make when saying “I hammered? I don’t hammer.”
That threw me off. Does Paige really think that her parents were, like, dating and both just happened to be in the KGB and then get assigned to the US together?
... burn a man alive in a stack of tires. The sounds alone made me change channels (and there was some spiffy name for that method of murder but I seem to have blocked it from my memory).
Whoever designed my office greatly underestimated how many men work on a floor. My floor has 1 men’s bathroom with 2 stalls. That’s it. And it is weird to go to another floor just to find the same situation, so most guys just deal with side-by-siders.
Still others said the news media should not have written about Heimlich’s past. “He was doing everything he was supposed to do, everything the courts asked,” said Raymond Brooks, a retired Oregon State professor. “Why even dig it up?”
I am also not a lawyer, but isn’t this sort of what nolo contendere is for? Or is that just used for very specific situations?
I was sure that would happen with Jon Niese.
I have a very distinct memory of seeing a GoBots movie ad in the newspaper and begging my dad to see it. Once he saw the ad, he told me the only theater showing that movie was an hour away. My 5-year old brain was like “So?” So we went. But when we arrived we were politely informed that, despite showtimes being listed…
Micro Machines!
When the SNL bumper showed Donald Glover/Childish Gambino was the next show, I made a comment about shows when the same person is the host and musical guest. My partner looked at me like I was crazy, “What are you even talking about?!?” Long story short: they pictured Danny Glover instead of Donald Glover and thought…
I’m all for this if it means Conan ditching monologues. I think his only enjoyment during that is when a joke bombs and he can make fun of it in a way that’s far, far funnier than the joke itself.
