There are two GLs in my neighborhood with this... ahem, feature. Until your comment I had convinced myself it was something from the JC Whitney catalog. Cheese-tastic.

LOOK. AT. THE. ROAD.
The cut line for the hood isn’t doing anyone any favors, either.
V8 first showed up in a 4Runner in that era, too.
I reckon its the mass of these beasts that keeps increasing what with our ‘need’ for infotainment doodads, plus safety equipment. Not that I am arguing against safety - but vehicle weights keep going up and up.
A car for a child/ren that don’t exist yet? This is an exercise in futility at best. Just buy what YOU want, OP.
This argument begs the question - “why was the Carerra GT thusly named???” It was light, wickedly fast, challenging to drive, low on luggage- and passenger space....
Two details I feel you overlooked: 1) Porsche isn’t saying this is the lightest variant. We have no idea what’s in store for hi-po models. 2) I bet the imminent electron-assisted (and probably awd) model(s) will make light work of any gains in mass.
Likely meant to coerce buyers into ante-ing up for the next trim level (or more) up as they’ll certainly make the S/Turbo S/GTS/Targa 4S/etc more handsome
I’m still seeing Salvador Dali’s moustache on the front of that thing.
Sign me up for a CorVolt
I am 100% certain that the Moron in Chief just learned of the Chicken Tax in the last 12 hours.
Am I the only one noting a lack of Chevy or Cadillac products on these lists? LOL ya burned GM
Like the MR2 in the hero pic, I have the *other* midengined rwd Toyota. I wish it had AWD and the supercharger. My Previa is super clean and has a new motor, but if I had to replace it, I’d want four driven wheels. S/C would just be a nice-to-have.
Those wheels do look good, agreed. Let’s talk about that unsightly grille though...
You’re not wrong.
Surprised Harry doesn’t say “LAHN-cha”.
This is very cool - thank you! I must repay you with some photos after our adventure. (Also, I love that R500. We have a rear-drive Previa. So, about 1/3 the power, but it’s mid-engined, so.... that’s something right? :) )
Not so much a dream but an imminent reality: my wife and I are taking a sabbatical next summer to drive from Washington State to Western NY and back. The idea right now is 5-6 weeks total, clockwise from Seattle through Vancouver BC to catch Trans Canada 1, and make our way to Buffalo where we’ll stay for 5-7 days…
These are the kind of details that make a post worthwhile. “Filthy” just doesn’t tell us anything.
