I’ve shared this before but seems appropriate to do it again: there was a KITT schematic that you could order from Universal back in the day. My mom scribbled the info down when this commercial ran after an episode and I received it in the mail shortly thereafter. Stoke was high til a neighbor kid nicked it from me. :/

IIRC it couldn’t even outrun/catch? a minivan in the first chase scene.

That Wraith car looks better than I remember!

It’s all dem cheeseburgers

This is the real reason.

I wonder the same thing. A local woman here in the PNW got the slushbox-equipped one for about $3K out of Vancouver, BC.

If anyone prefers the audio version of the tale, The Daily podcast from yesterday was pretty thorough.

Have a Freestar.

COTD.

Also, today I learned that the Citation was originally going to be called the Condor.

IIRC there was a Dukes of Hazzard or Knight Rider episode that demonstrated how to retrieve bags of loot by following with a pickup that had dudes with large fishhooks in the truck bed... probably not a great approach for fetching iPads though. LOL

What the what?

Safety, creature comforts, infotainment (I cringe just typing that sequence of letters.)

So were the wheels on the N32 300ZX. I was reminded of that by yesterday’s fuel injector replacement story.

Good grief... trying to put an early-model E30 on the road. What a hassle. Stole so much of my time I can’t even give it any more by sharing details.

Mazda + Audi = 3rd gen Insight?

Ain’t even mad. (Because it’s not worth it.)

Built alongside the NSX, too, right?

Glorious.

+1 for a gen-2 Mazda 5.

Good call. AWD also available if needed, though I think this relegates you to a slushbox if that matters. 6sp only available on FWD models IIRC.

I’m on the search for basically the same vehicle for the same need but AWD would be very preferable* - what do you all recommend? I’m thinking first-gen CR-V, or an early RAV4. Am I missing anything else? So far nothing American seems worth a look.
