Tell us how you really feel!
But for reals....I figure the Tercel 4WD was just an answer to the Subie DL/Loyale of the day. And if anything is a predecessor to the modern tall wagon (Outback, Forester, CR-V, etc), it may be a Tercel wagon, but it might also be an Eagle product from 10 years prior.

Needs more SHO for more go!

So very Renault 5 GT Turbo, but...different!

So. Much. Wasted. Space.
While it may have doors for driver and passenger, I can't imagine it has a back seat/headroom, and the rear hatch is nigh-unusable. Yeah, yeah, it's a design study, but as a car, it's even worse than a Mini Coupe.

Ya know the "code" behind his license plate?
First acting job in August of 1953 (853), "OK" for his home state, "G" for Garner.

Funny to see a Jeep Wrangler in London!

Can you look over my account? I'm no Chris Harris but I think I've got a few valid posts.

Raph: I honestly think the answer lies in the fact/rumor that this was a classic case of "design by committee". IIRC the Motor Trend preview of the car references this; the author of the piece asked a Benz rep at the PR event "What? Were two people responsible for the outside of this?" and the answer was "Three".

Cannot recommend enough that anyone heading to Stuttgart also check out the Benz factory. Tours are FASCINATING. Details here.
I have always meant to make a post about this via Kinja but alas I have not. Here are the highlights: taking a Universal Studios-like tour (available in several languages) of the manufacturing

I have a suggestion as well - check out the Benz factory across town in Sindelfingen. (Typing that from memory).

That plain Jane look is sweet. Kinda like the gangster look of the first-gen Infiniti M45

also here to fly the Volvo flag, though my enthusiasm is less model specific: how about those super- and turbocharged motors with on-demand e-only propulsion? THAT is the future of (Jalop-friendly) efficiency.

And the worst of this worst version is the one old Shel' apparently signed off on:

Typed "1962 Chevy Corvette". Who let in the hideous modern Corvettes with C2 "bodies"???? For shame!

Apparently these vents/design elements CAN get bigger than a Land Rover's.

Just a little too much of THIS going on here....

That Cadillac ELR advert with Neal McDonough pretty effectively conveyed that message, IMO.

I like what's going on back here.

If I had seen this image ~15 years ago, I'd think this is a concept of a future Caddy STS.

No sarcasm, my friend! I run Dracos on an N/A 745. (Naturally, I installed the eggcrate grille, too) Reverse sleeper?
