That looks really sharp, especially in plan view. The snub-nose is reminiscent of the recent Benzes and Bimmers, and the flush-look rear bumper cap makes me think of 1970s domestic market offerings from those brands.

I hope the CUE criticisms have been addressed.

Me too. The floating front fender looks like something that would just vibrate and look cheap. I assume the side view mirror would be connected to something substantial, but if not the image in the mirror would be blurred.

Kinda reminds me of the image quality of the short-lived Polaroid Polavision system! :)

I feel like the latest Beetle will be cool in 10 or 15 years. Now, it just looks like a fashion accessory.

Also, the Cruze is not cool.

I'd say if this "lea" of faith was intentional, I'd accept it being called a hoon. But this stupid step-down to flat? I don't think so.

Wow, that dealer guy really outed himself good, didn't he?

Agreed, I think Zorro's a bit off-base. The S-type wasn't THAT bad.

I guess I see Jag of the last 2o-ish years being a choice between style or substance. While the XJ12s of my youth are very stylish, they don't seem like a great engineering exercise. The S-Type, while fundamentally a tarted-up Lincoln, had its

I absolutely agree. Jag really had to move away from the tired retro design cues. The new one has its issues, but it's step or two in the right direction. I will say the vertical taillamps look silly, like the back end of the car was designed as set piece for a cheap movie set in "the future."

I just saw a GMC SUV the other day that I had not seen in some time - the Envoy XUV. It's like the worst of everything - a short & narrow bed with a retracting roof and a Midgate. Yeesh. It's like an Aztek with these undersized wheels and Pontiac-esque cladding.

Camera guy is a douche, too. Tailgate and cop and you're gonna have a bad time.

The flat-black side vents and lip spoiler look cheap to me. I think it's very likely this is the base model that's coming.

Yeah, add Seattle to that ignominious list.

I live in Seattle. Where do I start? We are decades behind in mass transit planning. There is the 405 which was supposed to route freight traffic around downtown, but instead initiated surburban sprawl.

I don't really understand watching something that close with binoculars. The field of view would be so small... weird.

That 'Cuda is the standout of the lot here. Wow!

I think they should just keep making these movies for the rest of eternity. If we Jalops get to see more cars like this, then all is right with the movie world.

While I cringe when these classics are destroyed, I think we can ALL agree that's it is far more favorable than watching CGI, or the stupid hyper-fast jump cuts a la "Gone in 60 Seconds" (the remake of course).

I have seen most of the franchise, and I will be there on opening night for this one.

I'm glad I am not the only one that thinks the VQ's sound fawking awful. So cheap and warbly. Ugh. The worst-sounding exhaust since the GM/Pontiac motors in the 80s and early 90s.

Super duper crack pipe.

Funny thing is most Jalops probably wouldn't have known this plastic person was associated with the Land Rover brand if not for this post.
