It’s actually exactly what the community has been asking for and if you’re already in the game, it’s not very complicated. Could see how it would be a bit much for a brand new player, tho.
I don’t see this as convoluted at all. You unlock mods and then you can use them on any armor, which sounds much better than running the raid over and over and over in the hopes of getting a helmet with Enhanced Hand Cannon Targeting.
I mean, love is a pretty useless and vague word in English too. He could love him as a friend, as a brother, as a sexual partner, as a tasty food, as an example of vulnerable humanity. I love my dog and sushi. It’s everything else about the scene that’s important.

Screen brightness, yeah. But that’s not something the app needs to change. You can do that on your phone yourself. If your batteries draining because of your screen, that’s your own fault.
