So many people are now just sick of what you call Pseudo MMOs that they are going back to traditional MMOs that have either recently updated or gone to a dual tier F2P/Premium monetization format....

There are parts of Anthem that are truly exceptional. Flying is an awesome feeling. The skills are interesting and powerful. The world is beautiful. That’s 40% of a great game right there.

so...are they going to make the actual game singleplayer like the story bits read...or change to story to match that it is multiplayer?

“And to do that properly we’ll be doing something we’d like to have done more of the first time around—giving a focused team the time to test and iterate, focusing on gameplay first.”

Why can’t narrative driven online shooters have moment to moment gameplay like single player narrative driven games? Destiny, The Division, Borderlands, etc; every combat moments feel stiff, generic, by the book, and forgettable.

I’ve got a list of things I’d want, but it boils down to more variety. The game only has a single green/brown zone, only a handfull of elites/bosses per enemy “faction” and most of the weapons were very generic for an otherwise fairly out there game. If they can change/add to all of that I think it could go a long way

If I remember correctly, EA corporate demanded that they use Frostbite. That being said, Bioware leadership should have done a better job pushing back.

Abandoning another failed game to make yet another game is not the right way to do business.

Shhh, we’re not allowed to recognize Diablo 3 as anything other than ‘a hot steaming mess that’s no better today than it was on launch day’.

My guess is that one of the main things they’re hoping to fix is the endgame loop. There are some pretty powerful pieces of gear to grind for, currently, but there’s no reason to grind for them other than to have them (or to run the grinding missions more effectively). Unlike a game like Destiny 2, there are no

I feel like if the game dropped it’s looter shooter mechanics and went for a more RPG focus with craftable upgrades and gear with preset stats it could work a bit better. More Mass Effect and less Destiny

I mean, unless they take it offline, give it a story mode and turn down the grind by a lot in this reinvention, I think I’ll continue to pass on it.

in a dark corner of youtube, open world games patiently awaits..

Diablo 3, also. (Though, as a casual fan, I enjoyed vanilla D3 well enough for what it was.)

I’ll never say never after the turnaround of No Man’s Sky and Final Fantasy XIV, but they certainly have their work cut out for them.

It would be interesting to see what they identified as the core aspects of the gameplay they want to improve, what is their priority order and how they intent to tackle the issues.

companies have pulled it off in the past.  Final Fantasy XIV, No Mans Sky, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Destiny 2 (some would argue that) all started off as absolute shit games but came back a year or two later and became amazing.  Battlefront 2 a very recent good example of this.  The game started out has literal hot

Aye, the flying was a blast, and the combat wasn’t that bad either. Hell, I even liked the story, it wasn’t up to Bioware’s usual standards but it was still miles ahead of what other Looter Shooters I’ve played had. I really do hope they figure out the rest of the whole thing...

This is great news. I’m glad they’ve finally decided to actually finish the game.

The wide gap between how slick flying/combat felt and almost every other aspect of the game was so disappointing... I’ll still give it another go yeah
