Sure, if you buy one new or recently used. I’ve found many Sportsters quite affordable from either 3rd party dealers or by owner. You have to be careful but I would never buy a new Harley as my first bike.

I’m surprised I don’t see anyone suggesting the HD Sportster. The 1200 might be a bit much but I would think the 883cu in. Vtwin would be fine for a beginner. (I hope so at least. It’s what I want.)
