Agreed! pro instruction and TONS upon TONS of seat time develop these kids into Pro drivers. In 20 years of racing I have seen guys who did not even start racing until they were in their 50's, but with the financial resources, training and ability to race 40 weekends a year develop into superfast drivers who compete…

Even though it's a game, Gran Turismo is still more of a simulator than anything. Get the proper setup for it and you're off (and out about a $1000). Even commercial pilots use simulators to train on because not everyone can have a commercial airliner in the air for practice piloting.

Most of these people are not pros, they didn't climb the feeder series ladder. Some have had other motorsport experiences in the past, but they didn't race their way up. What's been pretty amazing is even some of the non-winner have done pretty well because the exposure from this they got. Nissan's got a good thing…

It is exactly what you say. That race series may be geared towards mediocre, rich, (often older) drivers who may not have the raw talent, but love driving with people at a similar skill level to their own. Find another playground.

This is the most bullshit excuse I have ever heard. It basically says, "we only accept mediocre rich drivers." By this logic, shouldn't all the leaders of previous season be excluded in the following season?
