Happy Birthday Franko! I'm pretty sure cars secretly wait until the most inconvenient time to break down.

Castlevania is unfortunately one of my larger blindspots in terms of game music, so I think I'll catch up using the playlist and suggestions!
Lee Pace on that show was one of my very, very few crushes. Of course, it was kind of an embarrassing crush since I believe "adorably awkward guy with a bunch of issues" was not who teen girls were supposed to crush on (I think everyone went for big movie stars. How boring).
That's a shame! Was it plot, gameplay, both?
Yeah, you should be able to see it - if the problem is soloing then low rank is definitely soloable imo.
I could certainly see that watching the stream - every time I thought the game couldn't get trickier, I would return from getting tea and find that they were dealing with invisible blocks, hidden doors, swaying levels and so on.
It's especially great how it sounds nothing like any other track in the game - in fact most of the length of the other tracks is quiet atmospheric noise, so the contrast makes it sound even more awesome.
I went a bit long talking about the discussions, so double post (sorry!) for this week's game music.
Caught a stream of someone playing Equinox, isometric SNES puzzle platformer.
The music is by the awesome Follins! (I believe multiple were involved?)
It's a very interesting soundtrack. For example, the title theme…
Both interesting discussions this week. For me, both things I am very interested in from the outside - that is, I have read and watched a fair amount on the topics without actually playing (or in the case of Twin Peaks, watching) myself. For Deadly Premonition, I feel justified, because 1: I can't take any horror, so…
Thanks! I do still feel as though reading things out of context lessens them when eventually seeing them in context, but even a lessened great experience is still a pretty great experience. :)
Ohhhh okay! I was actually talking purely about single player back then.
I like the concept and design, but the fight was not compelling unfortunately - Glavenus itself is actually more fun to fight for me!
Tell you what monster I am looking forward to though - Amatsu! I've heard good things about the fight and the…
This week, more Monster Hunter Generations! Me and my buddy got to high rank, and my other MH-playing friend was ready to go online as well.
So, the Urgent quest to get to High Rank, Narkakos. What the hell is this fight? This may actually be worse than the snake from the last game. I know he has more stuff when you…
Ahhh how did I miss news of a possible Slings and Arrows prequel?!? Even if it is struggling to find a home… Anyway, this has made my day :)
The discussion this week sort of ended up off the topic of games a bit… but it was okay, because the talk was of the usual high standard! :)
Yep, I am steadfastly sticking to looking nothing up! I'll see how long that lasts, if the star puzzles are as tricky as you say! I'm realizing that I just didn't look everywhere on my first time through. Even if the "puzzle" is just hiding a switch behind a tree, I totally missed it first time.
There's a what now? That sounds cool! Where is it set?
Less gaming time this week, since I've been busy on holiday. Continuing in Monster Hunter Generations. Finished all the low-rank singleplayer quests. I actually unlocked some high-rank ones. I started one without realising it was high-rank, so I got a nasty surprise when I got pretty much one hit killed. I think I'll…
Small monsters really go badly with a bunch of styles actually - aerial misses on the way down, adept sends you running off but the monster has moved and is nowhere near you, both cases preventing for example the Spirit Slash from being completed.
And Insect Glaive is really annoying with small monsters too. I don't…
Haha! Aerial style is pretty fun yes. Dunk the monsters! Only problem for me is getting used to the jumping roll, which seems much slower and can't be used for positioning in the same way. Also, missing when jumping is pretty annoying. The longsword spirit slash in particular can be a problem.
But I think the styles…
Oh damn, this discussion sounded really interesting. I kinda didn't go on the AV Club at all this week and I'm just now catching up. I love empty places in videogames. There's a whole TV Trope about it too. Part of the attraction is definitely the mystery of the things. The idea that there may have been something…
