It’d be interesting to see what could be done with a more fitting set of controls. Throttle/brake/steering wheel is great for what he’s used to, but it sounds like it could really use some controls for on-the-fly power distribution between front and back, maybe side to side? (I dunno if the motors are set up to allow

Not in Portland.  Portland has a very long tradition of political public nudity that has been upheld multiple times in court - for both men and women.

This is Peak Portland.

The Golf R is a blast, but it’s a tough sell over the GTI. The GTI offers more personality - especially with the plaid upholstery. Beyond just launching, the GTI is also a bit more wild to pilot. Golf R is better, but $10k is $10k.

I previously owned an ST and now have an ‘18 RS. I’m 6'2" and found both ST/RS to be very comfortable, not only daily, but on long trips of over 1,000 miles.  The ST is probably a better over-all value for the average person and the Fiesta ST a better knock around second vehicle or for someone on a limited budget.

I have a friend that owns a business where he delivers cars to customers and he’s driven pretty much every single car on the road. His top two small cars are the Fiesta ST and Golf variants - the R and the GTI his favorite, of course.

I had the blend door fail on my first one about a year after I got it. I’ve somehow avoided all the other common issues I see on forums like overheating, limp mode, trans failures, etc on both of mine even with a decent amount of track use.

And you can buy a Fiesta ST (arguable funner/more comfortable) than the RS for nearly half the price of an RS. No brainer if you’re stuck on Ford.

Fiesta ST is still the most Fun per dollar spent car I’ve driven. Even though I work for Ford though, I have a hard time recommending them with the litany of troubles my family has had. The FiST HVAC’s aren’t very good and easily die among a host of other issues. I almost bough one for a daily but thought better of it

A Golf R or a Veloster N is gonna be a way better street car. And if you are a diehard Ford nerd, the Fiesta ST is more fun AND comfortable (yes I have driven both.)

I think you would get only one, not a pair.

Apparently in Minneapolis, they’ll kill you over $20.

Me too, My current car had the Billie Myers album Growing pains in the CD player when I bought it.

Not so much interest on the black market as I expected when I tried shifting it though,

“Thanks for coming officer. I think your dispatcher may have misheard what I was saying. I said I found a bunch of bricks and some cocaine. Here’s the baggie with the cocaine.”

I once bought a second-hand DVD player that had a copy of High School Musical in the tray so I know EXACTLY how the buyer of the car felt.

“Hello, officer, I’m calling because I just bought a car from a local auction and I found seventee..... ummm fiftee...ummm three bricks of cocaine in a hidden compartment inside the car.

I am firmly on the side of no chases unless the subject is an immediate danger to the public greater than the danger of chasing him. Which is probably 1% or less of them. Get his plate, let him go. Deal with it later when all involved have had a minute to chill the hell out.

I was hit by a car in a high speed chase at over 100mph in California. I would have died if they hit me 100 ft down the road. Instead I hit a concrete barrier and watched the driver side front wheel go through the air. I spent 6 plus hours road side over the whole thing. The police only cared about the people they

(the damn thing can only go 84 mph anyway),
