It's sort of interesting to know that there are always different interpretations, and true original definitions, to the words we've all grown accustomed to.

I was always under the impression that jaywalking meant that you crossed an intersection, but did not touch the curb on the opposite side as you changed direction i.e., in the shape of a "J".
