That’s always the hardest part in going back to some of the older TW games... you don’t have all the improved QoL, UI, and control changes that they’ve implemented over the years.

Yeah, the Otomo clan made for a very interesting campaign with it’s focus on Christianity and imported matchlocks. The cannons in that campaign were awful though.

Poor Sccc. You can feel his pain.

We’re up to $24m now! And, as Seoul Sister said, Valve has always paid in full. The vast majority (all but $1.6m) of the prize money is crowd funded by in-game purchases of the TI7 compendium and associated items. You can watch the prize pool grow day-by-day, hour-to-hour on sites like http://dota2.prizetrac.kr/interna

Liquid is still in it, they beat Secret last night.

It’s always fun to go back and watch some of the old matches. Couldn’t watch TNC vs. OG again though. Still hurts :(

Luke, I think it would have been worth mentioning something about the combined map in the last three paragraphs of the article. It’s something really unique about this trilogy that (in my opinion) really empowers CA to add a DLC to a game who’s sequel is coming out a month later.

1. Yes, play the game vanilla first, maybe get the Blood and Gore DLC cause it’s fun and adds to the immersion. Like others have said, the DLC mostly unlocks other factions as playable, but they exist as NPCs on the map when you play the base game, so your play experience when playing as one of the vanilla races will

As someone who’s a big fan of both Warhammer and Total War, I’d say that Total War: Warhammer is not the place to go to learn about the “content” of the Warhammer world, but it’s a good way to get immersed in the “feeling” of the Warhammer world whilst also having a solid strategy gaming experience. Total War games

They’re usually about $1.50 for the Blood & Gore DLC. The Warhammer one is $3.00, but I suspect that it’ll apply to all three games in the Warhammer trilogy. It’s not like they’re charging an arm and a leg here (there’s a pun in there somewhere).

And it’s likely that the first SAGA is going to be viking invasions, so now you’ll have even more fun!

See, I thought the reasoning for making Blood & Gore a DLC was quite practical. They’ve stated that they separate it into it’s own DLC to keep the age rating of the base game lower, which keeps the game more accessible to a greater age range of players.

Per CA rep on the Total War subreddit:

Good on you for reading the article! This actually sounds pretty cool.

This is one of the big difference between LoL and Dota pro-scenes: Riot gives spots in the league to organizations, whereas Valve gives spots in tournaments to players.

I know, I was hoping they’d be this year’s DC, only to fall again at the feet of the Dota behemoth that is OG (Fly/n0tail fangay, KappaPride)

Hey Eric, have you been enjoying the qualifiers so far? There’s certainly been no shortage of Dota to watch in the recent days.

Great article! I’ve only got about 1000 hours of Dota2 (most of which were from 3+ years ago), but before that I was HoN-trash. I really do love Dota2 and I think it’s definitely the best MOBA, but every once I’ll call something by it’s HoN name, I’ll miss the over-the-top announcers and taunts, or I’ll wish I could
