While an interesting story regardless, the conclusions (or just descriptions) getting drawn get a bit undercut with such underwhelming numbers.. a handful (135) of the 18 million Switch base.. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes from here but yea..

Wait.. buy why shouldn’t it be transliterated back to Japanese as En-Ee-Esu?

wait.. o_o ..as in Do-Ge?
just.. never thought of that as a pronunciation for it for some reason lol

Wow yea, the clarifying text is much appreciated. The initial wording very strongly hinted at promo cards manufactured for the event (which didn’t make much sense)

The equivalent of the shitty DnD player who steals from team-members because “I’m a theif!”, and indiscriminately kills npcs and attempts to do the same to other players because “lulz chaotic evil”..urgh

..but why would I ever check out games I can’t buy yet?..
..or check out how popular CS:GO and its ilk are one more time?..

hell, sometimes I get vaguely annoyed when Kotaku covers a game that won’t be out for another 6-12 months (not that they’re wrong to do so ofc) why would I ever specifically go out of my way to see

Overwatch is all about character and world-building, and the narratives and stories are in service of that. There’s no real conventional story for us to really dig deep and follow, but the worldbuilding is good enough that the rabid fanbase will pick what they like and run with it.

Fortnite forgoes characters and

ha, I’ll have you know I played TIS-100 and Shenzhen IO not so long ago :P

A game of CK2 (guessing wildly here) probably averages about 20-40 hours? With high replayability, and additional content having been added continuously for the last 16 years...

If you prefer games that can only be played once (for the same price), go for it, but there’s a reason these games persist.

Eh, personally FFA is all I play anymore. Low-stress, potential for wacky hi-jinks, and playing random characters I’d never dare play (poorly) even in Quick Play.

The fact that there is no balancing whatsoever is a shame, a given, and an accepted fact (not expecting or wanting Blizzard to balance differently in each

Looking at the other comments, if you struggle with the difficulty, then there’s some replayablity to it. It functions more as a(n excellent) narrative city-builder, but not so much emphasis on the replayability front.

Having blasted through the first 30 days of the first scenario in 6 hours without really feeling the

Am I the only one feeling vaguely uncomfortable that a picture of a group of women was coupled with this specific title? kinda implying that most of the people who would want/need to level up without killing anyone are women? Not sure if casual sexism or me just thinking too much :S

Gah, what happened in that last paragraph there >_>(Solder/likeAna)

And while I love keeping up with all the Overwatch community stuff via Kotaku, sometimes the endless scrolling pictures are a bit much..

That said, thanks for the heads up, off to buy digital skins I’ll rarely ever use :D

Feet are also considered ‘unclean’ in Buddhist cultures (Thailand and apparently Tibet for instance). There’s a whole thing about the head being sacred, feet being unclean etc etc. I’ve no idea if that’s applicable in Japan or not but with the Buddhist presence there I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.. A bit surprised

If this opens the door to finally cracking down on emotes used for blatantly racist means, then more power to the Doc (even if the wider angle probably wasn’t his intention)
Now Twitch has to decide whether they should actually enforce some of their rules.. or damage their brand by spitting (some more) in the face of

Had me immediately think of r/outside. Baffled that there aren’t more high quality content centered around stuff like this :P (that I know of anyways)

Why the lengthy write-up about the prime bots though? It must be affecting everyone similarly, a percentage of the subs that scales the larger you are. Same as with Dr.Disrespect and Tyler(?) was it? Just felt like the focus on prime subs at the end there was a bit out of place when its a more general issue. Felt like

Well, the portion of the community that rails equally against her and against male talentless hacks and/or funny trolls, aren’t sexist yea.. The rest on the other hand, are most likely sexist to some degree tbh.

Arguments to the tone of stealing views from more deserving streamers is juvenile at best, sexist at worst.

Urgh, if you disregard that one developer’s possible politics/racism, its just another case of the populace getting in to an ugly frenzy in their race for The Ultimate Game all over again :S

Suddenly, hewing closer to history necessitates every character being an actual counterpart to a real person.. Everything
