I had one thought the whole time I was looking at these beautiful pictures:

Heel & toe is definitely the driving skill that took me the longest to master. It's second-nature on the street now and both my cars have pedals set up for it (I use the 'side-step' technique as oppposted to true heel-toe). However, I'm still improving my techinque on the track where you're having to brake much more

Another owner of an '08 Miata here (who also happens to 'drive it like he stole it'). I can confirm that the gas mileage is horrendous. So bad in fact that for the first few months of ownership I suspected that I had leaky fuel injectors.

I'll throw in a suggestion for a car that gets a lot of Jalopnik love, but that many treat unfairly (girl's car, etc.). I would love for Jalopnik to review a new Miata.

No, you're not alone. I used to LOVE Top Gear a few years ago. I don't dislike it now, but I'd rather watch something on /DRIVE's YouTube channel or peruse the Miata forums or plan my next track day. In other words, I like to spend my 'car time' on things other than watching Top Gear.

I can somewhat relate to this post. I went to Mallya's launch party for Kingfisher Airlines in Bombay back in 2005. Easily the most lavish party I've ever attended (and my wedding was no small affair!). When the airlines launched, it was rumored that Mallya hand-picked each of the air hostesses. That guy has to be

This is less a joke and more of a personal edict that I live by:

Born in India. First car I rode in was a Hindustan Ambassador. I think it may have had a column-mounted manual shifter.

Same exact feeling here. Can't wait to get out of my Ford Focus and jump in my NC Miata this weekend.
