Times are tough...a lot of late-model vehicles are being sold by people who didn’t think they were over-spending. Check out Craigslist—very expensive and very inexpensive transportation all over the place.

In May of 2018 there were 16,708 new car dealerships. Ford & Chevy~3000 each, Toyota ~1400, etc. Add in the (probably) equal number of used lots and that’s about seven salespersons per lot.

I’ve been scanning Craigslist and you can feel the desperation of some sellers. The most noticeable are higher-end, late-model trucks but a good number of luxury vehicles as well. Of course, a lot of sub-$5000 beaters that would be NP’s as well.
