I have to wonder what kind of movie he approves of.  Is he one of those guys who never watches anything except documentaries because they consider fiction to be a waste of time?  Maybe he only likes those super indie art house movies where nothing comprehensible happens for the entire run?

The violence isn't unprovoked.  You provoked it by buying the movie about violence.  That's the whole point of the film, you're causing all of these bad things to happen because you bought a movie about bad things happening!  That's why you're a bad person.

You really don't need to.  The director hates violent movies, and wants you to hate them too, so he made this as a sort of aversion therapy.

This movie was a whole lot of people just staring at one another not saying anything or doing anything.  I think you could handle the subtitled version.

The message I got from the movie was the Director going "These torture porn movies are bad, and to prove it to you I'm going to make a bad movie!"

I think it is because the show was initially conceived as a Trek show, and pitched to Paramount that way.  It was only after being told that Star Trek on a Space Station would never work, but leave your notes so we can dispose of them properly did JMS go and make it his own show.

> and at worst it's insufferable (Voyager's hologram

The problem is that the station has glass windows that point out to space.  I was under the impression that PPGs were intentionally underpowered to avoid accidental hull breaches, or damage to things like steam lines that run just behind the walls.

BSG was in kind of a different situation though.  Their first goal whenever a Basestar showed up was to get everybody the heck out of dodge.  Galactica was just there to run interference while everybody got their drives spun up.  They also didn't generally get much warning.  Just BAM Dradus hits and missiles incoming,

What the hell is a "4-D motion ride"?  Do they strap you into a hypercube?

The same way you could read Gravity's Rainbow in a week and come out missing about 3/4 of the book?

Oh don't worry, it's a Pynchon novel so I'm sure you'll be able to crank through it in a weekend… /s

Mike's Hard Lemonade would have almost certainly made the show if it existed back then.

Yeah, there is a definite "nobody gets out alive" thing going on with Breaking Bad.  I mean Mike was practically out the door and the writers basically just had to have (SPOILER ALERT) Walt shoot him for no reason just to avoid breaking the rule.

I always assumed that Squidbillies stays on the air for the same reason Tim & Eric do:  They're cheap as dirt to produce.

Didn't Minoriteam only last like two episodes?  I can't imagine how you can fail with a premise like "What if the Superfriends were really really racist?"

IMHO you would be hard pressed to enjoy the chanting.  It's easier to enjoy the sheer spectacle of it, but the chanting part is literally just a solid tone.

The same could be said of any message board that has different topic areas.  Some will be better than others.  4chan gets judged by the character of /b/, while Reddit takes its grade from /r/mensrights and /r/under12gonewild, but there are also areas of both that have high quality discussion.  Reddit moreso than 4chan

I assume it's just the internet version of those guys who come up to women in bars and make offhanded insults to try to lower the woman's self esteem.

Worse, Symbiotic Titan was cancelled well before its time, just as the show was starting to ramp up very nicely.
