Just looking at the one bookcase by my desk, I see a copy of MEANWHILE, Mike Resnick’s Tales of the Galactic Midway books, Piers Anthony’s Prostho Plus, and Robert Adams The New AToms Bombshell. All crazy, all worth a look

Kudos for correctly including Michael Davis as a founder of Milestone. Too many comics writers don’t know that, or actively argue against it being so.
