Exactly. Her personal communication with him is already inappropriate. His apparently being ok with that is suspect. And the fact that he needs to tell the judge the right thing to get them released, and he hasn’t done it? Yeah.

Yeah, the whole, “He begged me not to do it”—besides being sketchy as hell since she’s essentially admitting she’s talked to him numerous times outside of the courtroom and off the record and based her rulings on his stated wishes instead of the best interests of the children—is ridiculous because she repeatedly says…
Because he left the Country the day after the Children were locked up! I can’t even guess why they don’t love their Daddy more, he seems like such a great MRA spokesman.
Because it’s fucking illegal for the judge to order the kids into a group home for refusing to see their Dad. This is detailed in an above comment: the judge has no standing whatsoever to have the kids put in a group home, because legally, they’re not party to the divorce case. What she’s doing is not just unethical,…
So? What do the father’s wishes have to do with this? The children have been put in jail by an abusive judge. I really don’t care if both of the parents are the worst people alive. The children are the issue here.
And that has what to do with the children needing to be in jail?
Nobody is talking about the fucking mother, last time I checked this thread. We’re talking about the CHILDREN, who are in JAIL.
I don’t really understand why everyone is quick to side with the mother on this one without knowing all the facts? I mean, I doubt the judge just decided to randomly take out frustrations on this lady and her kids. It seems very unlikely that she is an innocent victim.
I’m not siding with the mother—I know nothing about her. I do know that the father is such a piece of shit, and cares so little about his children, that he’d rather they spend their entire childhoods incarcerated than be allowed to choose not to see him.
I feel like most commenters are siding with the children and the law rather than either of the parents.
Honestly, I’m not sure who is in the right or the wrong, but I DO know that at least the mom is working her ass off to get those kids out of there. Dad is on the sidelines wringing his hands pathetically while trying to garner sympathy for HIS plight. He is doing jack and shit to get his kids out of those facilities.
“Since then, I’ve been seeing them regularly but always in supervised visits, sometimes with a professional and sometimes with my ex-wife present.
To be fair, for many respondents (including myself) it’s not about siding with the mother, who may well be a personality-disordered alienator — how can anyone know from the bare-bones information presented in a news article? — but rather about the act of rendering any kind of judgement on the children, much less such…
Cool beans. So the obvious solution is to treat a group of children like they are criminals and lock them up. That will certainly be the anti-venom to mom’s poison. I bet they come out of there full of nothing but love for dear old dad. :|
And yet no explanation as to why he’s letting his kids stew behind bars for not wanting to have lunch with him.
I’m a family law attorney, and my office has been up in arms about this all week.
lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol
Reality has a well-known pro-vaccine bias. It’s disgusting; reality should really be willing to hear both sides on this issue.
As soon as the Social Justice Warriors
The sheer amount of hypocrisy here is astounding. it’s astonishing to me that people can decry a book / author such as Scalzi as being a social justice warrior, and then turn around and complain that a book like 2312 (which is FAR more progressive) didn’t get the win in 2013 for best novel.
