Gamergate, first coined by actor Adam Baldwin, is an amorphous campaign that is ostensibly about ethics in video game journalism and defending the "gamer" identity but has come under fire for its links to a wave of harassment, particularly of women, in gaming.

I actually saw some Gamergate kid reblog this on Tumblr with the comment: "I'M PRETTY SURE THIS IS FAKE. NO 911 OPERATOR WOULD EVER SAY THIS. IT'S JUST MORE SJW LIES."

So, where's the evidence of their full names and full addresses having been posted? Where's the evidence that they've gone to the police and reported it?

The reality is that the "sides" are not equal in this, and no amount of equivocation or excuses will change that.

You know what's funny, the only people bringing up gamergate are the ones crying "Don't blame gamergate for this, y'all!"

It's funny how this situation mirrors the extremism perpetrated against women every day in the middle east. We view ourselves as so much more civilized and accomplished, but then people do things like this... hatred and bigotry, it seems, can't be contained by national borders.

Feel free to disagree with her views, but your comment is belittling a pretty serious situation . It's kind of crazy to go on a post where someone threatened to kill her and shoot up a school, crack your knuckles, and say "Can't wait to see who she blames for this one!"

Leaving aside the breathtaking condescension in that sentence: do you think artists in the industry (indies notwithstanding) are given unfettered freedom to realize their vision today?

Just going to butt in to say it's really weird that you get frustrated by feminists discussing things that "don't matter" and yet here you are investing your time arguing about people arguing about things that "don't matter". I don't really know how to respond here. It's not "sexism". It's sexism. When people attack women with misogyny and threats, when being a woman is made the point of attack, it's sexism.
