The notion that 'false rape accusations' ruins lives is laughable when convicted rapists end up making hundreds of thousands being an elected official and get a chance to pass laws treating rape victims even worse.

"In a well-regulated militia." There's no right to bear arms denoted in the Constitution that doesn't involve being in a militia.

I have a Bank Manager who believes in the illuminati.

I thought it was written to protect citizens from invading British soldiers who would capture & occupy their homes. Really, such a common problem in this country considering how often we're occupied by ground troops of foreign forces. Oh wait, we're not, so it had to be "rewritten" by modern gun enthusiasts so we had

I would disagree that it was important. And the fact that it was named buttercup and cast as a black and white cat is lazy. If you're going to direct a wildly popular book with a ravenous fan base, the one thing you could do is get the cat's color right. Also the cat is kind of hugely important later on with Katniss

Kind of seems like Time missed an opportunity to cover this as a gender issue. The fact that the family tree excludes women is a story. And they should have covered it. This reminds me about the debates about values in science. In science, the questions that get asked, that are deemed important enough to

The thing about the women I named, they are all spectacularly good chefs. But they also had to force their way to where they are now, they are almost their own creations. It's unfortunate, the women who are there are very good, but very few of them actually benefitted from the boys club, as you can see from the chart.

My experience has been that while there are both male and female versions of the "keep them down because they are a threat" bosses, even I notice it way more when it's a female. I also think the male version is actually less threatened by (newer, jr, younger) females, but again, my experience.

I really don't care as long as said boss
1. Treats me like a damn human.
2. Is accessible.
3. Knows about what I'm doing.
4. Doesn't smell funny.

Mildly ... ? More symbolic value than plot-driving value. And more so in the last book.

I don't think that's any serious number of men. I get that it's a fun talking point, and sounds like it makes sense, but the reality is the vast majority of rapists offend repeatedly, and are entirely aware of what they're doing.

I think the best way to deal with this is not to cut down on drinking (which will be hard to do), but to severely punish rapists and those who prey on drunk people. I mean, severely. Obviously, kicking them out of school, but also having them forfeit their tuition and, of course, GOING TO JAIL. I think having the

Dear Literal Person:

His reasoning that he plagiarized your work is that he had exams that same week? Really? We've all been there. No matter whether it was high school or college or graduate school, we've all been there, and yet most of us are able to get by without plagiarizing the work of someone else. I once had four papers and two

I always tell my students: if you can find it on the internet, SO CAN I.

Well, he can always move to Kentucky and run for the US Senate someday.

I'm sorry. I want to give you the eyeroll you deserve, but I would blind myself. Do tell me what a legitimate cultural identity or an aspirational cultural identity is.

Star Trek was one of the first shows that taught me that women were, in fact, the equals of men.

[buzzkill reminder that Whedon fired Charisma Carpenter because she got pregnant]

How is it in any way a radical feminist site?
