“Ford, for example, said a 3D-printed spoiler could way less than half a cast metal counterpart”

I think it’s creepier that law enforcement agencies are running massive undercover sting operations for an app that connects someone that needs a ride to someone that is giving rides. Sure, it’s a massive company, but at the root of it, that’s what it is. It’s not like these guys are selling cocaine out of a Burger

Why are people creeped out about this? This grayball thing isn’t creepy, it’s clever.

“What junkyard wonders await us next time?”

No True Car Person. I come here only for the wallpapers, and that’s it! Anyone else is just a fair-weather asshole.

I love the undercarriage view through the glass floor in the videos on their site.

Oh I see. You think you’re the arbiter of who is “real car people”.

Well first thing, that is a freaking chasm between their lowest estimate, and their highest. The whole premise is based on “Well, we know practically without doubt that the excess emissions were somewhere in between 28kt and 440kt, so we’ll guesstimate that it is 240kt”.

It’s worth noting that the study’s 95 percent confidence intervals for premature deaths and total life-years lost are 130 to 2,800 and 1,400 to 32,000, respectively. The above estimates represent medians, and there’s quite a bit of uncertainty involved.

Protecting the castles will become an issue.

Having owned a BMW of a few years ago (2009), I am befuddled by the notion that anything could be less reliable.

So they’re going to put a BIGLY heavy road car out there, without a sway bar, and with high compression rear suspension and a light front suspension, PLUS put DOT-approved drag radials??? I’ve read that they’re supposed to ship with Nitto NT555R tires, which are DOT-approved, but even so, they’re not going to handle

It’s a road car that dominates at the drag strip, but has an extreamly high probability of crashing every time it’s on the road.

“removing the sway bar “

I worked for a company that had injection molding machines. When they started the machines up, it would take a while to get the molds and everything to the proper temperature. During that warm up period, the machines would produce these horribly deformed parts that were discarded.

It still amazes me how much bandwidth professional race car drivers have even when driving on the hot end of the 10th’s scale. Yeah, sure, I’ll narrate and be funny and charming AND SHIFT MY OWN GEARS all while my hot shoe burns a trail round this course. Fuuuq.

Chevrolet: origin French, diminutive chevre (goat), in otherwords, goat herder.

Also, it’s possible that people don’t understand that Tesla doesn’t use hub motors.

I’m convinced Ferraris and Corvettes are slowly merging into one.

It’s a very clear progression from classic ITB’s with individual filters.
