Im all for deer detectors, but once the system detects one, then what? Any indicator can be missed the same way as the deer itself by an inattentive driver. Machine actions are going to be better than no actions.

I get the complaints against Tesla’s marketing of it’s autopilot, but I don’t understand why you guys consider the super cruise to be a superior system. It’s working off pre recorded data, its ability to sense and react to the world around it is much more limited . It only activates sometimes, in some places.
A 4 inch diameter mild steel rod will hold a little over 650,000 lbs. That part seems safe.
I wonder how much of it is software that can be fixed, software that can't be fixed, and hardware limitations.
Depends. Is someone hogging the left hand lane?
With the driver front and passenger rear wheel drive.
First the skateboard concept was renamed as down engine. The up engine cars came next. The natural progression was to strange and charmed engine automobiles.
Finally, a t-top submersible motorcycle!
According to google, induction burners pull around 1.5kw.
It's never kW/hr. Watts are a power unit. They have a /unit time already in. It's a lot like a flow unit, gallons/minute. Gallons/minute/minute doesn't make any sense. Kwh is closer to gallons/minute*minutes which technically works but it's just gallons, or in case of electricity joules.
Depends on how often you need the trailer. Every day? Sure. Once a year? Trailer is ok. Once a month? Just depends.
Awesome info, thank you!
Are they using an absurdly powerful fuel cell, or some kind of hybrid system where the normally sized fuel cell is filling up intermediary batteries?
You could do it on the cheap, by regenning off the throttle. For coasting, use cruise control.
“Regenerative braking was deemed too expensive and heavy to haul around in this thing, so Electra Meccanica has forgone the feature. The car’s so aerodynamic and light that it has a decent claimed range without it, anyway.”
But why is it related to this robot from later in the movie?
Lets wait for someone to actually make them before we start talking about banning them
Lidars big advantage is that it gives range. A camera can have a hard time distinguishing between a large square far away and a small one that’s closer. Multiple cameras can help thru paralax, but that’s limited too.
Lidar has very short range. That, and the cost are most likely the reason Tesla is avoiding it. By itself, lidar can’t see far enough to allow the vehicle to drive at full speed.
If these are street bikes of some sort, you're not hauling three of them without a trailer no matter what truck you get. I'd you're going to need a trailer anyway, might as well get whatever truck you want.
