A v8 has 4 pairs of cylinders. A 4 stroke fires for half a revolution every other turn. Anything other than 90 deg throw would make for uneven firing periods. 

You want to do a cross plane with an angle other than 90 deg between the cranks?

V angle has a lot to do with it. A cross plane, v8 is a stack of v twins, which balance as long as the v angle is 90 deg. This way the motion of a piston balances out the motion of the counter weight on the part of the twin belonging to the twin piston.

MRP systems rely on sales projections to work. Those are really difficult to make during very rapid growth.

It sounds like the kind of problems you get into when you’re betting on an exponential growth curve. The other option was to become a very small manufacturer making a few dozen to a hundred cars a year, at very high price, delivered on time, with higher initial quality. 

My take is somewhat less negative, but I largely agree. Keep in mind that the kickstarter was for something that everyone who knew what they were doing said couldnt be done, and that while it will likely be very late as always, the whole delivery situation will get sorted out eventually.
