1 gw reactor for every 33 recharge stations, if we follow his math. I find the math a tad suspicious given that it relies on 2min refill time. Gas pumps pump up to 10 gpm, not at 10gpm, and he assumes that the pumps fill one car after another, with no breaks in between, 24 hours a day.

40 of them might lie. 40 set yes, and 20 said that it depends. “It depends” means ok at least part of the time. so only 40% said “absolutely not, no sir, not me”.

So how do autonomous cars react to being honked at? Let’s face it, they need to react somehow.

Good news, we found a candidate for the 1976 PANG Saddlebag Truck replica.

One would think that regulatory agencies would be captured by companies they have worked with for a long time, not new entrants.

Well yes. Their numbers started out good, but were dropping pretty bad in the end, there is no denying that. However, I think the model could have lived a few more years, and possibly made it to a new design if the crash standards didn’t cut its life short.

I thought the FJ was shut down because there was no good way for it to meet the new crash standards in anything remotely resembling its current form

Not crazy about the looks (who would be?) and I really hate the dash, but otherwise I really like the concept. The idea of having all seats fold down into a smooth floor is amazing, as is a van with some offroad capabilities (although that has certainly been done before).

So is it an automatic (planetary with torque converter) that uses the shifter to request gears similar to most paddles, or is it an automated manual with a manual mode?

The way I understood it was that wings provide down force (they are literally upside down airplane wings) where as spoilers correct airflow over the vehicle to reduce drag. Is that correct?

Their spoiler sure looks more like a wing. I thought spoilers were typically close to vertical.

As unrealistic as getting rid of guns is, it’s orders of magnitude easier than curing all crazy. Some people selfishly decide that if they can’t have a nice life, they are going to make sure no one else can either. How do you cure that?

I’m told that while the US thinks of the receiver as the critical part of the gun (all other being unregulated spare parts) other countries think of the critical parts as those that contain combustion pressures. A (good) barrel is considerably more difficult to make at home than a receiver, as it needs difficult to

Because while you gain bargaining power, you loose the ability to determine what you get to bargain for. Some prefer higher pay, some better insurance coverage, some more vocation. Everyone’s needs aren’t the same. Unions also make it more difficult to advance on merit as opposed to seniority.

I see what you’re getting at, but it’s the pressure*volume that’s proportional to the moles not the volume itself. Gas expands to fill the volume of the container. Take away half the molecules and the volume will remain unchanged, but the pressure will drop (assuming constant temperature) .

Umm, gas volume is not proportional to the number of molecules.

In a conventional Otto cycle, at the end of the power stroke the gasses in the cylinder are still hot and under pressure. There is more energy there, but it can’t be extracted since the piston reaches the end of its stroke. By having a longer power stroke, more of that energy can be extracted.

Unscheduled maintenance? Do you mean repairs? If so, I would imagine the warranty would cover it.

Having owned a BMW, I completely understand where he is coming from.
