The way I understood it was that wings provide down force (they are literally upside down airplane wings) where as spoilers correct airflow over the vehicle to reduce drag. Is that correct?

Their spoiler sure looks more like a wing. I thought spoilers were typically close to vertical.

Because while you gain bargaining power, you loose the ability to determine what you get to bargain for. Some prefer higher pay, some better insurance coverage, some more vocation. Everyone’s needs aren’t the same. Unions also make it more difficult to advance on merit as opposed to seniority.

I see what you’re getting at, but it’s the pressure*volume that’s proportional to the moles not the volume itself. Gas expands to fill the volume of the container. Take away half the molecules and the volume will remain unchanged, but the pressure will drop (assuming constant temperature) .

In a conventional Otto cycle, at the end of the power stroke the gasses in the cylinder are still hot and under pressure. There is more energy there, but it can’t be extracted since the piston reaches the end of its stroke. By having a longer power stroke, more of that energy can be extracted.

Unscheduled maintenance? Do you mean repairs? If so, I would imagine the warranty would cover it.

As far as I know you are free to take your tesla and reprogram it anyway you want. Youd loose the warranty, and but you would loose that with a conventional car you choose to modify. The skills required are somewhat rarer, but there are plenty of electrical engineers who would be up to the task.

It’s similar to hotels or airlines offering products at a discount, or grocery stores giving out coupons.
