This was part of the pre-show for a Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure screening at the Alamo Drafthouse a few years back. Impeccable work.

Absolutely. The absolute hatred of, and degrading comments toward, Camilla were clearly misogynistic, in devaluing her for her looks; but the media’s possessive, controlling attitude toward Diana, ‘The People’s Princess’, [and remember, it got really nasty once she tried being public relationships again after the…
If she was prettier and younger than Diana, I bet the media would have woven a very different narrative about the love triangle.
I mean, let’s say this meets the legal requirements for defamation in the UK (which are lower than the US). Can you imagine the three-ring circus the trial would be? I don’t think the palace has any interest in that spectacle.
As voraciously as I devour the show, it’s also occurred to me that someone fictionalizing your life and airing it for the world to see when the world is really, really bad at differentiating truth from poetic license (or even outright disinformation)...that could be very disturbing to the subject.
But it also seems to track with real life accounts of him. He didn’t handle the transition into adulthood well.
I think Charles just talks a big talk but can’t actually walk the walk. When push comes to shove instead of rising to the occasion he retreats to his corner of “woe is me, nobody’s got such a raw deal as I do.” It’s easier for him to feel sorry for himself and blame his problems on others than to acknowledge he could…
He’s the real villain. Camilla and Diana aren’t perfect, sure, but Charles caused all of this with his giant man-baby-ness.
Well, I’m well over 50, and I definitely don’t care. We were screaming “Parasite!” at the sundry royals who toured our college back in the early 80s, so the sentiment isn’t new.
They did cast him in a good light, but also very carefully built up the base of the ‘it’s all about ME. ME ME ME.’ that this season really drove home.
Their Charles, so humanized in the last season, comes off as cruel, weak, and emotionally immature.
I should be less shocked that every Trumper I know is super into the monarchy.
But then I thought a little bit and it makes perfect sense.
Oh yeah he’s awful, but I guess when you’re raised to do whatever someone else tells you without question, Charles is the result.
Sorry, I should rephrase that, does anyone under 50 *in the UK* actually care?
Charles, real and fictional, is such a worthless weenie, oh my god.
Speaking of shit handling...those things are really only meant to go straight.
I mean why else would they have them and not just be a normal tank?
Watch out for the cops with bulldozers blocking the road.
But I think he needs all the help he can get considering his dick is marshmellow soft.
