They might actually hold up better to mud than most things short of actual jungle boots. You’d get the mother of all blisters, but the tight fit coupled with less surface for mud to suck against might actually work in your favor.

The shoes would be a total write-off afterwards though, but probably better than going

I mean, the waves are pretty well done.

That’s because Martin has no sense of scale. I vaguely recall him admitting in an interview or something that when he found out just how tall his initial description made it, he was a bit stunned.

Look, I don’t know why you’ve got such a hard-on for arguing this, but there’s more than enough evidence that this does actually happen. I really don’t know what point you’re trying to make, other than you’re too stubborn to admit that.

Yes, but companies haven’t always been that good about telling you when your info was stored, or that if you saved your account on all your devices for convenience that it’ll also have your credit card info if you’ve saved that on just one of them.

Apparently you have more faith that people always pay perfect

Not to mention that “In-app purchases” varies a lot between games. Not all of them use it for tons of microtransactions, though that’s become the standard business model. Sometimes it’s just a modern take on the shareware/free trial model where you can buy the “full” game after trying it for a bit.

Given how often people raise complaints about this, yeah, apparently there are still parents that do that, largely on accident. It’s not actually that hard, considering how a lot of that info is stored in accounts that are linked across devices.

Weirdly, I was in a similar situation and the rep initially said that “because the renewal was too recent you won’t be eligible for the refund”.

So I politely mentioned that most consumer-focused businesses issue refunds like these when you’ve bought something just before it goes on sale, and the rep said they’d talked

One thing that’s kind of interesting to note: that $1M bonus is treated as an advance of their royalties. So if they had made ~$3M or more they don’t actually get anything out of it other than getting the money earlier. Probably a long-shot, but I’d be curious to see a study done of how many games hit earnings goals

Arkham Horror and the related spin-offs mostly focus on co-op.

The original is pretty fun, but it has an immense set-up time, and can take awhile to play. (Though every now and then it puts the screws to you and you lose in less time than it took to set up). There’s a ton of expansions for it though, with a lot of

Other than Switzerland or from an enclave of Swiss immigrants, I don’t really have a clue on that, I’m afraid. I think my brother tried to get written rules from our grandmother at some point, but it’s definitely one of those things that seems to be passed down a family by cross-generation play rather than

As best I understand it (never played Sheepshead) the other big thing is the variable trump suit. That is, unless you play the variant where every hand uses different rules for scoring and sometimes card hierarchy. That one is weird as hell.

Should be even gladder she isn’t Swiss, because Jas is Sheepshead with even more complex rules.

Yeah, they actually are in circumstances like this. If the ref gets in the way of an ongoing play, that’s different. If they can reasonably avoid contact they are supposed to avoid contact.

Covering it up is certainly something that happens, but usually when it’s something this flagrant, there’s very little tolerance for roughing up an official. It is very bad for the game for the officials’ authority to be undermined by letting players threaten them like that. That’s aside the fact that officials are

Players are absolutely not allowed to strike officials. In fact, any contact with an official at all is prohibited if it’s judged as “unnecessary”, which is to cover accidents. Running 7 yards to strike an official in the back is far beyond a reasonable definition of accident. A second player hitting them while down

You are absolutely not allowed to hit officials deliberately like that. It’s up to the officiating organization to discipline refs, not the players. Accidents happen, but the second hit makes it clear that this was no accident.

The ref being in the way does not entitle a player to make contact with them. If they’re in the way, too bad, go around. The officiating organization will handle disciplining them if necessary.

You have skillfully and hilariously captured the logic of someone suffering from a concussion. Bravo.
