With this and the data-sharing news this week, it looks increasingly like I’ll be buying used cars from 2016 or older for the rest of my life.

Yup, this seems like the most likely scenario. It was also mid-February so it’s also likely road conditions were terrible and the car slide into the river. I’m assuming that a mid 60's Impala was terrible on icy roads.

The pair was last seen at a farm auction near the Winnebago-Olga Country line.

Observe, shadow, deter with physical presence, and yeah, if necessary, shoot down.

The PIC advised the Jakarta ACC that BTK6723 experienced radio communication problem and currently the problem has been resolved...Yes, the pilots initially tried to hide the fact they fell asleep.

To give the plane less time to potentially lose more wheels while in the air. Can’t assume it’s one and done; there might be some larger issue with the strut as a whole.

So you’re saying they didn’t need to use a Nissan Frontier to help with the landing?

Right? This isn’t “distracted driving” this is “total dumbassery”.

What’s really incredible (at least to me) is that the driver not only survived, but wasn’t even gravely injured. Safety has really come a long way in modern cars.

I don’t want to be internet crass, so I want to be clear that I am glad the driver is ok.

Laughs in tik tok

Them Tikity Tok’s ain’t gonna watch themselves!!!!

Like Ok I can get being distracted on say a highway, still really DUMB but I can kind of get it, it’s a normally boring mundane drive, but why the fuck are you distracted on what look like the twisties.

I’ll hang onto the memories of 2017-19 where I was playing it daily. Every decision made onto OW2 only fortifies I made the right decision to uninstall it.

Makes sense if they’re speedrunning the death of this game

Someone has been watching Robocop.

The world could probably use the late Amy Winehouse more than it needs Elon Musk.

To be honest, if I had to deal with Elon, I’d feel internal pressure to do drugs too

Just a single wrongly-sized bolt/truss plate (of probably 1000s) on that Minnesota highway bridge, yet that weakness was largely what brought it down. Weird how bolts/supports meant to function flawlessly only when interlocked suddenly can go to shit when unlocked. Yeah, only a few bolts broken of 119, but what if

I got new bindings for my snowboard. New screws with a dab of factory loctite blue. They started loosening up after a couple weekends, catastrophic if your binding comes off. Pulled them all off and put a big dab of fresh Loctite Blue on all of them. Tightened them up again.
