“Apple doesn’t care about it’s customer more than any other business”

That just means they’ve decided to look for a better test case to prosecute. The FBI could see public opinion sliding in Apple’s favor so they'll just look for another opportunity to convince a lot of people they should give up their privacy because there might be bad people in the world. The goal here isn’t to access

I think it’s safe to assume the feds might not be secure in their belief that they can win this case and thus don’t want to set a new precedent for future cases.

Or...more likely the FBI didn’t realize what a shitstorm this would cause and instead is just having the NSA crack it.

Kate Knibbs releases a “new” article about iPhones today, and it killed all the previous articles. this was a shrewd blogging strategy and a dirty trick. The article is not new. It’s the same article.

No they didn’t. This product did not exist before, therefore it is a new product.

This article kind of misses the point, no? I don’t think people that wanted a 4" phone wanted something crazy-new or exclusive (other than the screen size) or anything—they wanted the most recent guts in a smaller package. Which, that’s literally what this is, right?

Saw the author was HamNo, assumed the answer was to watch society crumble around you, then use those crumbles as a sweet topping.

Nothing incorrect was said.

But there’s still something quite amusing in Apple having to rely on direct competitors to power its own services.

My favorite part of political discourse is when those clearly lacking any understanding of the most basic concepts of civics inform everyone on the intricacies of Constitutional scholarship in between slurps of their Big Gulp.

Near-parity between genders on campaign staff? Imagine that!

I think it depends on the release. My 2011 15" MBP shipped with Lion. I’ve upgraded each year and never experienced much of a performance difference until Yosemite. Yosemite was an unmitigated disaster. It was fine on my fully loaded 27" iMac, but not so on my older hardware. However, El Capitan (Note: four releases

This is bad advice. Do the opposite of this.

Sounds like someone had a bad experience with an update. For me, my 2012 MacBook has gotten noticeably faster and more battery-efficient with every update. That’s how it’s supposed to work... It’s not just “added features” you know.

FWIW, just because he is open to admitting to seeing both sides of the argument doesn’t mean his statements are dumb or hypocritical.

FBI: Make a new OS to bypass security measures on this one and only iPhone, pls.

Glad everyone jumped in to correct me.

I see you’ve never used the Internet before.
