That’s how it was during the early 2008 primaries...until it wasn’t. Our default of pragmatism because we have so much more to lose. That doesn’t mean we can’t (and that we don’t) balance that with idealism when the situation allows.

It’s a really good read; you’ll fly through it. It’s one of those novels told from a few different perspectives and she is so brilliant at writing the distinct voices of each of the characters that I didn’t need to read the headings to know who was telling each chapter.
