? Where did I say it was alien, unsophisticated, or unworldly? It is culturally relative different to America compared to the Western European nations that largely colonized the US (such as Britain and France). Those countries simply have more culturally in common with the US.

Even if they weren’t I doubt this would be something taboo to them. They have little relation to American Culture, and are a fairly homogenous country.
