I think it’s good this season showed a version of their relationship that ended naturally, otherwise I think some people would forever bitch about Chidi and Simone and how the only reason they didn’t end up together was the whole Soul Squad thing. 

All of that with “Foot Lager” in the background makes this show remarkable.

Simone was never going to be endgame for Chidi though. Even without all this going on, they would have dated for a while and then broken up. Probably even stayed friends depending on how much they got on each other’s nerves before the break up.

In season one he moves into Eleanor’s guest room after a few days to avoid suspicion. I don’t think we ever actually SAW his apartment until much, much later.

That screencap of Chidi and Michael does a great job of showing how good of an actor William Jackson Harper is. His posture and the combination of a forced half smile and wincing eyes sums up everything he’s going through, along with the mask that Chidi can’t help but wear. None of it feels stagey or forced, either.…

It was established that he had his own apartment in Season 1. At some point they ditched it, though I don’t really remember when.

I kind of liked how they framed Chidi’s flaw in terms of reason vs emotion, and how not only is that a false binary, believing in it can hurt real people. Chidi’s the only human character who it seems like was never given major flaws, enough to understand why he was in the bad place with dirtbag, dirtbag, and social…

I got a big laugh out of the red cowboy boot. Great call back.
