I’m so pleased that you think that AAVE is “awesome”. But FYI the correct term is “speaking the King’s English”.

Speaking of Karens...Nextdoor.com emailed and asked its members to post comments about Black Lives Matter. I did and was subjected to 12 hours some of the most vile and racist comments that I’ve heard in a long time. This came from one woman. I stood up to her and because I did so, she reported me to Nextdoor.

I am a black woman. And, as such, am now throwing down a gauntlet in order to give Jezebel the time that it needs to prove that it does not red line the voices of black women. The clock has been set and it is now ticking.

Okay, let’s reframe it this way: “A riot is the language of the unheard”.

The oppressed call it “protesting”. Oppressors call it “rioting and looting”. And since you feel privileged enough to share your ‘Miss Manners’ guide to protesting the murder of yet another unarmed black man, let me share mine: “You can’t tear down the massa’s house using the massa’s tools”. 

I would love to reply, in support of your article, but Jezebel seems to have a systemic policy of not allowing black women to give voice in its comments section.

And you need to stop telling the women who post comments on this site what they should and should not say.

So was Joe Biden’s calling presidential candidate, Barack Obama, “articulate, bright and clean”. 

Obama is not “playing”. He’s keeping it real. 

Have you noticed that Trump’s name-calling (“crazy, unstable, low IQ, liar, hater, dishonest, nasty, failed and grossly incompetent”...to name a few) describes him to a T?  Projection is a powerful drug.
