It’s antihistamine. Benadryl is diphenhydramine, Nyquil is doxylamine succinate, and depending on the preparation of unisom you buy (tabs vs gels), Unisom is one of those two. Literally think Nyquil without the rest of the cold stuff in it. I take one every night with my buspirone for that perfect night’s sleep.
Most of the ‘PM’ medications contain the same ingredient as Benadryl, which is an anti-histamine that has the side effect of making you sleeping. Unisom is a different anti-histamine, but it has the same effect of making you sleepy.
