To be fair, the bad Supes movies now outnumber the good ones, and same for the Spider-Man films.

We might get the obscure 80s references again! as opposed to Whedon's obvious 90's references. Big improvement for me.

Even better, Angel almost mentions that the vampire self contains parts of ourselves we usually conceal.

Good thing too. He would have either been the target of violence or been revealed to be a member of an anti-Batman cult all along and only married Batman to get close to him.

"The best kind of not true!"

She was less bad than I thought she was going to be.

It's been confirmed those are Slayers,. body guards, and the fact that he doesn't drool over them shows he definitely knows who he is.

The people who don't understand why something was great and try to cash in are bad wherever and Whedon's imitators are some of the most irritating.

It would have been more effective had there been Chinese and Asian people in the show at all. Rather than a multicultural society, it comes across as a bunch of Americans who are just really into certain Chinese words.

Heck, even Buffy was wildly inconsistent at times. Why do wooden crosses scare vampires and metal ones burn them? AHHH

She's clearly exaggerating is what I meant. Besides, it's the space boonies. Probably just a few cities, maybe one spaceport. Not a lot to control.

Don't remind me of early game Gunn.
(even if he did have a few good lines).

He wasn't a major character but he does well for himself.
Especially compared to Jonathan.
*sniff* *manly tears*.

I always assumed that was a sort of mob boss type
"This is my turf" type deal.

Considering 99% of non-comic book viewers don't know Maria's name (is it even given in the film?) I would have been very surprised. Black Widow doesn't speak much to Phil either, or random guy playing Ikagura or tetris or whatever that Tony calls out.

Not being consulted enough…

She's good but some of her storylines are sooo stupid.

I thought Lucy showed us live-action rip-offs of anime is always a bad idea.

To be fair, magic and fighting was 90% of Buffy and Angel.

Why would they need to speak? Maria's role in the film is very small indeed. She isn't an Avenger, or anything. If a film really wants to pass the test, then just make 50% of your characters girls and you will eventually.
