For the record, since another poster called me on it: I don't agree with autoevolution's symantics. In my opinion both 180-degree Vs and boxers can be referred to as flat, but 180-degree Vs are not boxers. Boxer = flat but flat ≠ boxer

It blows my mind that you could post a large, clear picture of what is very obviously a flat-12, and still manage to write "V12" in the headline and all throughout the article. How can such an experienced writer screw up that hard?

Looks can be deceiving. I am guessing you are making the common assumption that flat and boxer are interchangeable terms, which they are not (although most people don't realize that).
