This totally backfired for me.  My youngest plays Minecraft.  Which is perfectly fine and she enjoys it.  However, she wanted to learn to do more advanced things, so she watches other kids playing Minecraft.  Now when we ask her what she wants to be when she grows up?  “Daddy, I’m gonna be a Youtuber when I grow up!”

As well as make yourself look better for progression

Not mandatory but don’t expect to climb any corporate ladders if you don’t. Which is fine if you’re just in it for a paycheck for sure.

I’m going to be playing the Splatfest for Splatoon tonight since it’s a special long one and I’ll be busy tomorrow night.

This is some f’ed up crap. This is how we allow corporations control everything. I used to not care, but this is getting out of control.

If you want to be proud of your heritage, be specific. There’s Irish pride, there’s Italian pride, in some cases there are days celebrating your heritage, such as Saint Patrick's day. But white pride is definitely a racist thing to say. And trying to defend it just makes you look racist, so don’t even try.

I only posted this so we’d have the gif on file.

Do you play online games? Try doing so as someone who the random teenagers you’ve matchmade with realize is gay and try to count how many “fag” references you’ll get. You’ll lose count before the first match is over. The gaming community at large is extremely homophobic and having queer gamers win things means a lot

In a word: Representation.
People of all stripes want to see someone “like them” in glamorous venues. It’s the dream, the realization that you too can become great. It’s projection; wish-fulfilment. But liek children need heroes to aspire to be great, so do adults.
That SonicFox represents two oft-maligned constituency

Even disregarding my Big Gay Crush for SonicFox, he’s honestly such a huge inspiration for the queer gaming community. The downside is that whether he likes it or not, he’s our representative and advocate now, especially in the FGC, which has been largely a (straight) boy’s club for far too long (Even the very few

We topped out at 50 today, and will tomorrow, as well.  I am as happy as an arctic pig in chilly shit.

It’s hard for me to resent a giant, publicly traded corporation for wanting to make more money.”
But shouldn’t you? If we’re reducing this to simple economics shouldn’t we, as consumers, want as much as possible for as little as possible and begrudge them every penny?  It seems fair that if we are going to excuse

I mean, on one hand. Yeah, you’re completely right. On the other, these ones transcend “just books” for actual millions of people, and that’s not even taking the greater impact of the entire property on the pop culture hivemind. These books, movies, play, and whatever Pottermore actually is have a tremendous impact.

I mean if you play every single game then I can see that being exhausting. I imagine that is a small minority though. Books can get long too but authors probably dont think to themselves “I should make this shorter for the people who read every book that is released”

It is worth noting that during Giant Bomb’s stream they encountered a situation as Alexios where he resolves a situation by tricking a women into believing that he is the voice of a male god’s statue. Alex Navarro mentioned that during his playthrough as Kassandra during the same mission it was a notably different

I also submit “The Renumbered Sequel” where games go from having number sequels to dropping the number only to suddenly start renumbering them. There’s two forms of this: one in which they pretend they never stopped numbering, like Mario Kart suddenly just having Mario Kart 7 and 8. The other is when they bring

Developer during an interview: “We did a lot of research into Oedipus Rex, the Odyssey, crazy stuff like Lysistrata – all of these amazing Greek texts.

Actual game dialogue: “Hey, shit-face”.

Yeah same. It’s good to have a choice. :)

It’s not enough to rely on consumer pressure to get devs paid severances when they’re axed like this. Those who want to see companies do right by devs should be regularly supporting and encouraging unionization efforts, long before things ever come to a head.
