She’s bad, but she isn’t the worst guest ever, that honor(?) goes to my cousin’s estranged father who insisted on hitting on 17 year old me and then decided that the only reason I wasn’t reciprocating was because I was obviously dating the guy next to me, my other cousin, his estranged ex step son, who he didn't

You listening, Patricia Arquette?

When I managed a Borders we were also responsible for this small calendar kiosk on the other side of the shopping center. I was there covering someone’s lunch break and this crazed woman came over demanding why we had no bichon frise calendars. The dog calendar people were always the weirdest.

It speaks sick, sad volumes that this is even a fucking thing. That there could be a mindset among grown men that says, “My feelings for your beauty were not reciprocated, so I punish you by trying to take that beauty away from you” like spoiled, murderous children.

I am a Black Christian and this is my response to any and every story about Kim Davis and/or Mike Huckabee.

get out

And gang rape each other. They are truly the humans of the sea.

Whether or not my offering to split the check results in an adverse reaction from the man makes a big impact on whether or not there will be a next date :)

Okay, I’ll bite. Am I really the only one who at least tries to get the guy to let me chip in for half? Sometimes the guy on the date stubbornly won’t let me, in which case I’ll usually concede (because I don’t want to get into a huge argument about it) and pay for the second date (if there is one) or, if we’re going

Yeah, this is kind of how I feel. On OITNB they were particularly concerned about Laverne’s mental state in having to play a man, and she was delighted to find she couldn’t pass for one at all.

I kind of wonder, though, in a film where the main character presents as male for most of it - it seems like it might be traumatic for a trans woman, who has probably spent a long time getting her outward presentation to match her sense of self, to have to present as male again for so much of it. Although, you know,

On the one hand, I think you have a good point. They are a tiny percent of the population and if you are talking about them having appropriate representation it would be a very small percent of the roles.

Unfortunately this is true for a lot of minorities and also women. Shit, Idris Elba just got basically told he isn’t suitable for Bond. My point is that yes, more trans folks should be able to act, but it’s a deeply screwed up industry and trans folks’ inability to gain traction is just one aspect of that.

I liked Dawn! At first I was like wtf just like everyone else, but she grew on me.

that’s a good point. there was so much consternation about Daniel Craig not “looking” like James Bond...but he’s like, the best Bond since Connery.

When Daniel Craig was rumored to be taking over Bond, not being “suave” enough = not having dark hair.

Also, fucking ROGER MOORE played James Bond for 10 years.

And then there is this from my friend.
