My daughter’s second grade friends are doing this so I say yes.

I’m also an old I guess I can’t even imagine going to something like this now. I was into this scene in the late 90's/early 00's and went to EDC in 2001. I'll just have the memories of parties and dancing and I also still love the music but I can't handle that scene.
97! I was in for almost half my life!
I’m 36 and even though I’ve been out for 18 years, I still get the occasional “what if I was wrong?!” panic. I know sooo many people that have left though.
Omg I used to freak out anytime politicians would say “peace and security” on TV. Now they have some shitty cartoons for kids too telling them how to be the perfect kid! I am so glad my kids don’t have to deal with this crap. They are so lucky. They get to celebrate birthday and Christmas and not worry that the world…
You know Saturday mornings were reserved for door to door service right? ;-)
That really sucks. I do know people who have been thrown out and never had the skills to cope out in the real world. Some end up in bad situations because of it or end up going back proving their stupid point. I hope things turned out ok in the end. <3
Replace heaven with paradise and BINGO!
My biggest revenge has been that I have a great life. My “worldly” husband is amazing, my kids are good kids even though we are raising them agnostic, and we are generally happy. I let me teen daughter do everything my parents never did and she’s a good kid. Even my mom is amazed. I’m like SEE! We don’t need your…
You’re right. I was one of the lucky ones. I’ve read stories where people are completely abandoned. They totally fucked up my childhood. I got baptized at 9 and did not wth I was doing. Luckily I was “rebellious” and had a lot of worldly friends so when I got df I wasn’t completely alone. By that point I was so over…
Yeah maybe mine would have. Mine ignored the rule to shun me when I got disgellowshipped. My dad even walked me down the aisle when I got married. I really hate the religion though. My poor niece just got disfellowshipped for MARRYING her high school sweetheart. She told me she was still a virgin but they were mad…
Look they’re crazy and have strange beliefs. I grew up as one and am SO glad I left at 18 and never looked back. Luckily my parents didn’t shun me although they were supposed to. The JW’s loved that Prince was a JW. I’ve heard exceptions are made for famous ones and they don’t get in trouble. Who knows if this is true…
Not true.
I just said the same. As an ex-Jdub I got perfect medical care. Now had I been in an accident and suffered blood loss, well who knows...
Not at all! As an ex jw I can assure you had all my vaccines. Now would my parents have let me die instead of getting a blood transfusion, probably 😉
I missed you!
If my parents had gotten their way I would be a full fledged door knocking Jehovah’s Witness right now. I seriously believed the world was going to end at some point, probably during my childhood. Luckily it was the 90's and music and my school friends saved me. I got out when I was 17 and never looked back. The cool…
Ugh me too! And it's dark but I call it my whisker because I love cats. I would be mortified if someone did what your boss did but it's actually pretty funny :D
Same here! That was my weight in high school and always thought I was fat because I didn't weigh 115 like the short small framed girls.
Yup! The hubs has the unhealthiest diet and rarely exercises (also he smokes) yet he is a tall, lean and naturally muscular like his dad and his grandpa before that. Yes of course a good diet and exercise is necessary to “be” healthy and people like the OP are too dumb to realize that.
