You’ve got it wrong though. He will never have more power to force an investigation than he just had by withholding his vote. It was an 11-10 vote. He just had the chance to single-handedly force an investigation. He chose not to do so.

It changes literally nothing in terms of the nomination. He voted for Kavanaugh once without an investigation while pretending he stood up to his party. There’s still no investigation. He can act like he wants one for a few days before putting on a show of reluctance again next week before voting for his confirmation…

Yes. Cynically trying to shift a conversation to something that it isn’t about to avoid acknowledging the fact that, yes, yesterday’s events (both Dr. Ford’s and his own testimony) do indeed make it clear that he is not worthy of a seat on the Supreme Court makes you an enormous pile of shit.
