The song wasn't really too sappy, Cecily Strong just doesn't have much of a voice, or she was too nervous. I can't sing either, so I have sympathy for her, but yeeash, that was not good.

I get what Pegg is saying… but I often find that people who enjoy and can discuss "nerd culture" also have a better than average grip on politics, history, current events, etc. It seems to me that a LOT of people who aren't interested in "childish" nerd culture are instead "grown-ups" who obsess over material goods…
