Doom 2099 was fantastic. It really was one of my favorite comics.

I think that it is a logical expectation of the show. I have always viewed this show as his rise and fall, from the highest office to the lowest depths. So when he achieves, and presumably fails, it should not be unexpected. This show is far more about how this all plays out as opposed to what the end looks like.

This makes me think of Thine Own Self. I grew up on TNG and this episode in particular had an impact on me. There are valuable lessons for us all here. Not just for our lives but also when we look at the lives of others and whole nations.
