But if they had barnacles on them, the salt water would have eroded all of their flesh. It just isn’t possible. We’ve seen zombies just out and about that have deteriorated, let alone being kept under salt water.

And dont forget the garbage pail kids from last week who got the drop on them in the junkyard. Hey Rick - you didnt notice/hear those 50 or so people waiting behind piles of trash?
Negan’s guy’s were able to sneak up three times (last I counted) on our band of heroes through heavy undergrowth and Negan has gotten away with EVERYTHING. At least the governor suffered some setbacks, it’s annoying AF when the bad guy never gets a comeuppance.
What no one realizes, is that trash heaps all over the nation are already populated by Thunderdome cosplay rejects waiting for an apocalypse to happen so they can finally be free of society’s judgement, these folk just got lucky.
The fact that I don’t know Negan after The Negan Episode isn’t reason to have confidence. There wasn’t any signal of intelligence or depth. I didn’t see any sign that this is a front or that there’s some kind of method to the madness. In fact it made the Saviors looks substantially less viable as a group than before I…
Again, I think the ‘this is misery/torture porn’ criticism to be a little thin. I think its a way to put a gloss of high criticism on the fact that a given person just doesn’t like the fact that certain characters die or that they just don’t like the amount of violence in the show. Which, y’know, fair enough but at…
I don’t have a problem with TWD killing off characters; they’ve done that since the beginning.
My thoughts exactly. I was compelled to wonder despite the horror of the ep, why in the world would that many people be so afraid of one person? They’ll have to prove that one to me. ( No, they did not do that last night. Despite the carnage. )
Pretty true. Negan exists only because the writers need an evil person. He’s evil just for the sake of being evil. He has no reason and no background other than ‘I like being bad’.
Spot on. And the whole scheme to block every road to Hilltop is ridiculous. It would take thousands of people perfectly coordinated and constant tracking of the RV. You’d have to know who was on the RV, know it didn’t have enough fuel to go way around, know where they were going and why. Basically Bond Villian level…
Couldn’t agree more. Why would adults follow a psychopath when their lives are at stake? Dictators control large populations with media propaganda, economic repercussions and law enforcement. None of that is possible here in TWD Universe. Yes, dictators use brutality to intimidate people, but often there’s other…
Right. I asked myself why Negan’s guys followed him. Why was he the leader? Did he threaten all of them the same way? They would have killed him by now.
A show like Game of Thrones uses violence in the service of the narrative. The Walking Dead started out the same, but now the narrative is subservient to the shock value delivered via violence. That’s what makes it gore porn, rather just a show that features gore. The outright glorification of it, the “let’s see how…
Thank you. I find Negan almost comical. (I do not blame the actor, the writing for this character is terrible IMO.)
I see this, but I don’t blame the character for this, I blame the showrunners. They wanted Glen dead, and just needed even the thinnest excuse to get the job done.
“Negan is by far the most interesting villain the show has had, because he still just oozes affability”
My issue, and I will be vilified for this, is this:
Oh good! It will have no trouble at all disemboweling humans when the uprising takes place.
