That hurts the devs long term returns more than the publisher.  It also likely breaks legal contracts and would probably give Actiblizz one hell of a payout.  Realistically they can start refusing to allow future games on the stores.

The “Money” was already in their pockets. Riot got their cut. The popularity of the game is why Netflix thought this was a good idea. The fact that they put real money and talent into it made it an excellent series (I did not care for the ending but it was an amazing ride).
