1997ish, just after the release of Gran Turismo. A couple of friends and I are driving down a street in Northridge, CA. Just a normal Friday night. Suddenly, I see something up ahead. It’s on a trailer. It’s yellow. It seems... Familiar. HOLY SHIT, IT’S A SKYLINE! I had never seen one before, aside from Gran Turismo

Between Ventura and Carpinteria? May have been a friend of a friend. Was it dark blue?

So it’s basically a New Fiat 850 with an EV powertrain. I dig it.

A “...Russian-speaking, non-U.S. citizen employee of Tesla...” This means he’ll have to go back if/when his visa/employment ends. That may end up sucking for him (polinium/window/etc.). The poor dude needs US citizenship ASAP.

This dealer group has been involved in all kinds of shenanigans, including the above-described $2.4M essentially stolen from car wash employees (paid below minimum wage, unpaid time, charged for shop supplies) which the dealer principal also owns. Per a friend (who may actually end up posting here) who lives nearby,

I’m only here to correct Chrissy Teigen. The parking garage was in Hawthorne, at the abandoned Hawthorne Mall, not downtown LA. I should know, I rented my Skyline to Universal and had to drop it off at that garage for the drift scene :P.

Posted this from my phone and failed to timely edit, apologies.

They didn't, unfortunately.  He pleaded ignorance and they decided not to waste time watching the dashcam.  Just made him hand over his insurance info and sent him off.

Mine came in handy a little more than two years ago. The video is below in 3 parts. I was driving behind my girlfriend (the Saab wagon in the video). We were at a light when a motorcycle tried to lane-split to the front of the cats waiting at the light. As he did so, he ended up clipping the Saab and then took off. I

You are 148% incorrect and may be going off the misprint in the early 2012 manuals. There were no PZEV 2011s, so they revised the 2012 manual and did so incorrectly in only one part of the manual (10/150 vs. 15/150).

I’m pretty sure he’s 100% correct. The cars with high battery use will show lifetime MPG (which can’t be reset except by the dealer) in the 80s, 90s, and even mid 100s. 47.5 shows that the previous owner probably had a long commute, ran the first 35 or so miles on EV and then switched to gas for the looooooooong

It’s a decent price but it misses the one aspect of a Volt that is a huge selling point in CARB states, the insane 10 year/150k battery warranty and 15 year/150k warranty on virtually every other hybrid/electric/Voltec related component. Since many Volts sat on the lot for a while before selling/leading initially,

If you're sure it works in Mk5s, make me an offer.  I have the manuals, Nav CD, etc.

I know it’s a bit late For you but for anyone reading this, you can revive old Carvana quotes by accepting them after expiration. I got a quote on my GTI in December for $11k. It expired and the quote in early January was $7500. I clicked on the old quote and it was revived for 24 hours.  I accepted and then drove the

Or buy one of the Chinese-spec OEM units for a couple of hundred bucks, and they drop right in.  Was going to do that to my Mk6 GTI but ended up getting rid of it for a Mk7.5.  Still have an RNS 510 Nav headunit laying around for a Mk6/Tiguan/Passat/etc.

I loved the old wheels as well.  In fact, I loved everything about the car but Carvana gave me an insane buy-out offer, so I let it go.  The new one is Pure White.

Sold my 2013 GTI (6-speed) and bought a 6-speed ‘19 SE with Experience (DCC) on 1/31/20. Unfortunately it’s cursed with the dreaded 2019 GTI stalling issue. Hoping that can be resolved as there really isn’t anything else on the market that comes close to this car.

Had no idea who Ken Wahl was either.  Google reveals that he was an up-and-coming actor who broke his neck and back falling down some stairs at Rodney Dangerfield’s girlfriend’s house shortly after that cover came out, which ended his career.

In fact, not only is it a backwards E, but the logo is clearly an “E” as well.

Please, please, please find these photos.
