I should have bought that Mini you recently sold on BaT :(.

Here’s an equally important map, you imbecile.

I believe I saw something on the spec sheet about it hitting 180mph.

I was there, listening to the beautiful sounds it made. According to the owner, that’s the best routing he could come up with. Routing it to the side was melting passing cars at stop lights. Routing it to the ground liquified the asphalt when the car was stopped. Shooting it up to the sky/windshield was the only way

It was an excellent event with lots of “celebrities” from our automotive slice of the Internet and beyond. You know you’re at an amazing car event when a friend texts you that he’s an an Escort Cosworth, you text him that you’re there and don’t see him and then realize that there are TWO Escort Cosworths there!

If the street is blocked off for filming, they may have permits to close the space (but not always, lots of permits are issued for momentary closures every couple of minutes).

I’m from SoCal and have had several photographs published (R&T, Motor Trend, and others through Brenda Priddy and Associates). LA is a great place for this stuff because the mules/prototypes often end up unmasked for commercial/ad shoots. It also helps to have an office in the downtown LA area and to have enough work

My gf and I watch your vids (I’m a subscriber). She’s now way into our planned 911 restoration. Now I just need to get that 911 :P.

I subscribe to his stuff. That’s his wife and he has her do Porsche trivia stuff at the end of some of the videos.

They’re surprisingly expensive for a decent 16v GTI these days. I have too many projects to handle at this point. Although I sometimes think of getting rid of my E30 M3 for the perfect Mk2 :).

This guy is me.

Not the craziest story. There’s a guy in SoCal (I think he may even be a member here) that air-shipped his 911 from his house in London to his house in Malibu.

Ok... Here goes... I’m reasonably sure I’m going to get a lot of flack for this.

Are you near a BYD bus plant/facility? We actually have a BYD showroom in LA and BYD handed out Corolla-clones to the LA Dept. of Housing several years ago.

This. Can’t believe it wasn’t mentioned (the BMW-sorta thing, I mean).

Here’s a couple of pics of one that my neighbor had about 10 years ago here in LA. Bought it in Mexico for something like $10k, as far as I remember.

Turn it into a Driftsuoka.

Hah, Yuri, didn’t even realize that was you!

Was just going to say this. Also, bizarrely, the USDM convertible is completely different from the JDM convertible. Two different top designs/mechanisms (one power, one manual) and even differently designed trunk hinges.

Mk3 Jettas were a pretty popular car to mod. That Jetta wasn’t even built for the movie, it was owned by Shawn Tai of ZteamYOSSi up in NorCal. His brother Wilson had a similar Golf.
