The question is was the cops actively monitoring him? Did they watch him to the point where he triggered the violation of his probation terms and was hauled back to jail? I think everyone in the community knew who he was (that tends to happen especially in small towns) and at least one person called the cops on him…

On the whole, I love Anna’s writing. But “alleged” in this context does a disservice to the readers and the victims. The word “alleged” is used when someone has been accused of committing a crime, but has not yet been convicted. Bullying is not a crime, especially, I’m sure, in Oklahoma, so some other word should…

Whenever I see a dark colored Explorer these days I slow down no matter what. Only when I can verify up close that it’s not CHP do I speed up. With the stealth light bar I’ll continue doing that but look even closer.

On the plus side Dodge Charger taillights are so distinctive it’s possible to spot them from well over a mile away. I know it’s not as useful as recognizing a Crown Vic coming up behind you but it’s something at least.
