I was helping a guy working on the front suspension of a Chevelle when the coil spring decided to release its potential energy.  It moved so fast I only saw the garage window explode.  It landed in his swimming pool.  Everyone was ok, but that was the last time for me with coil springs.

As a former member of the DoD Acquisition Corp, this is angering and inexcusable. One of the reasons I retired was that I was often surrounded by cohorts who couldn’t reason their way out of a wet paper bag. Guess they got jobs at NASA.

One of those 3.5 L engines was the first I’ve heard of a “cam in block” with variable valve timing. Weird.

According to Google Maps it’s 35 miles to Needles. If your tank is empty (which is stupid in the first place, because Mojave Desert) you can get 2-3 gallons to get you to civilization.  If you’re going the other way and didn’t tank up in Needles, then I guess you pay the “stupid tax”.
